For those reasons, Cuevas de Nerja is such a great place for a family excursion. A guided tour lasts around 45 minutes but there are also audio guides available.

Río Chillar

Since 1929 is a protected natural area of national interest. Apart from the geological interest, El Torcal also has an interesting range of flora and wild fauna such as mountain goats, foxes, and badgers. But of the rich fauna of El Torcal, its birdlife is especially noteworthy hosting species such as griffon vultures or golden eagles.
